Help your Teen Prep for Junior High
*7th graders only please

Starting a new school experience along with other large developmental changes that happen at junior high can be a lot! This class is to help incoming students gain confidence in the change and learn coping skills to get them through these stressful situations. There's no question recent events taught us that we all need healthy outlets to manage stress. We all recognize the urgent need for youth and teens to find solutions to regulate emotional needs. This class offers practical and effective coping strategies. We will focus especially on prepping for Junior High, preparing for transitions and being ready for growth.

The Teen/Adolescent Coping Sills course is run by a Master in Recreational Therapy. Using evidence based practice, participants will learn to implement coping skills to use daily when feeling overwhelmed, find connection and trust in relationships, and explore meaningful ways to spend time. Learning these skills will help build resilience and prepare them to recognize healthy ways to express emotions. We will practice breathing techniques, stress management, and finding joy.
